Safeya had started her monthly salon ten years ago in her family’s house in 1992. She envisioned these special guest lecture activities as bridges that would connect her with every intellectual, researcher, and lecture in the world of liberal and fine arts. The salon had always enjoyed the approval of enthused female attendance since it provided them with the chance of exchanging their ideas and enriching their mental capabilities. In the year 2000, the group started to gather at Safeya’s Darat, instead of her family’s salon, and it was given the name: “the cultural meeting.” The meeting is scheduled regularly on the first Sunday of the Gregorian month.

The Darat Lectures influence the role of art culture in the Saudi society. As the ongoing plan is to host guests speakers who would give lectures about the value of art and literature.
